Infection Prevention
Deodate Compassion Home Care LLC maintains reasonable infection-prevention and workplace-safety practices.
Caregivers shall:
- Perform appropriate hand hygiene
- Use appropriate PPE when required
- Follow standard precautions
- Properly handle bodily fluids
- Report exposure incidents
- Stay home or report illness when required
- Follow client-specific infection-prevention instructions
Home Safety
Caregivers observe and report hazards such as:
- Fall risks
- Unsafe electrical conditions
- Blocked exits
- Fire hazards
- Unsafe temperatures
- Dangerous animals
- Unsafe substances
- Serious sanitation concerns
Medication-Related Assistance
Caregivers only provide medication-related assistance permitted by their training, job duties, authorization, and applicable law. They do not independently diagnose, prescribe, discontinue, or change medications. Medication errors are reported immediately under the company’s incident procedure.
Incident Response
In an emergency, caregivers ensure immediate safety, call 911 when appropriate, provide assistance within their training, notify company personnel and the MCO/care manager when required, complete documentation, and follow up.
